Technically 401k loans can be obtained for any reason up to 5 year term at prime + 1 (4.25%) sometimes lower depending on the 401k administrator and loans for primary residences can be obtained from the 401k account up to 15 year term which drastically reduces the auto deduction from your paychecks every month/biweekly/weekly.Some administrators vary however most people have Vanguard, Fidelity, Nationwide, Prudential, and etc.
