Cancellations happen all of the time for a lot of really good, valid reasons: Death in the family, illness, job loss, pandemic, earthquake, flood, tornado, hurricane, and many more.

Think about it, most likely a family is NOT going to want to live in a 2/1 and a old farm house converted to updown duplex...nope. downstairs neighbor going to hate a family it they moved in upstairs due to noise kids will make ...Plus old farm house maintenance nightmare going to nickel and dime you to death...and it's a converted duplex pass.

I don't understand how lack of activity by a plaintiff that causes the court to make a motion for dismissal would toll the statute of limitations.

Instead of letting it drag me toward an early death I chose to start investing in real estate about 7 years ago.

We have had a natural death in another property and a break-in after a tenant moved, but overall, there has always been a positive cash-flow.

The only way to get deals is by direct mail and finding "motivated sellers" i.e. people who are upside down, just got divorced and need to sell, a death in the family etc.

(The fact that we had 2 deaths--natural thank God--two weeks ago in these apartments, 2 days apart, didn't even faze me!)
