Most of the new construction I see if for large apartment complexes.It would be interesting to see some stats for of those who don't own their own home how many could really qualify for a loan.

However, some were created by families or trusts that bought only new construction in 1998-2003, before CA prices went out of control.  

My dad flipped homes, built new construction homes, and invested in large multi-family apartment rentals.
