A big 50's house if nice and big can be a great asset for appealing to mid-century modern buyers.

It is also nice to have 3 places close together, but not sure exactly what you meant by less competition for rent.

The nice thing about wholesaling is that they work in nearly any market.

I would and others may, feel that while a few extra bucks might be nice it doesn't pay for the difficulties it may cause.

Might make a nice nook for a small desk too.....or a crib.

Just remember Neil, you may find a nice deal in SoCal, but there inherent difficulties with being a landlord in CA, tenants are generally treated as endangered species by the courts, one of the reasons I haven't been excited about buying more SFR's in CA.Andrew

But regular landlords who want to have nice properties, rent them out and keep them nice don't tend to do well there over time.Check out Landlord tenant laws too.
