My initial reason for asking all this was essentially to dive into the SA STR market and really understand it more to which I've been given a ton of valuable information even if I might have to pivot my strategy. 

I would def teach my younger self to not listen to naysayers, and dive in and learn this business.

Still looking into which market to dive into but we can't wait to get started.

You have the right idea by diving into the networking scene. 

Without diving into the details, a house hack that “breaks even” with 2 out of 3 rented is awesome!

Down here, the dirt is so thick and creates so much pressure, when you start digging deeper, you release a ton of that pressure that helps hold up your foundation.

Worked at a great job where I was a top performer with good income, benefits etc. but I just didn't love it anymore and wanted to dive into real estate investing.
