As I live outside the U.S., I need to rely on my R.E. agent to view properties on my behalf.

My city forced a home owner to tear down a several hundred thousand dollar house because it was build outside permitted requirements.

Supposedly the house is built from a railroad car, but it doesn't appear that way from the outside. 

So at a minimum they brought in twenty three thousand to fifty thousand dollars a weekend and they had no over head or bills of any kind to worry about cause it all took place outside.

I have been spending the past few weeks trying to figure out what is fair and what would even be a good starting point to even open up negotiations.I think this is a topic that isn't necessarily covered enough in detail outside of your standard 70/30 or 80/20 LP/GP splits on syndication deals.

My question is should I invest in a bookkeeping software like Quickbooks for keeping the finances outside of their scope of responsiblity nice and tidy, and if so, what software is recomended and why?
