This is not to say they are the only considerations and I won't rehash what others have said about passion and what it is you actually want to do as it was said already but obviously if you are unhappy doing one or the other pure logic is not going to help.  1) real estate is cyclical even more so when you use leverage which unless you have a boatload of cash you will be doing.
