What steps do you need to take and are you willing to take a short term pay cut to make it happen?

We are in contract with a mulit-unit home (2 duplexes and 1 single family home) on the North Shore of Oahu and looking into the idea of opening up a Group Home for Senior or Assisted Living.

This is one of those confusing tax issues that does not have a short answer: do I need to send Forms 1099-INT to my private lenders, and do they need to send me Forms 1098?

We are just starting out, listening to the Rookie podcast, researching areas, figuring out what strategy makes since, etc. 

Ideally I would want it to be within an hour of downtown Salt Lake and open to both long term and short term.

Even if yuo do get a home in that fashion, just realize you are immediately over leveraged and underwater in most instances on that property.
