many cities now encourage ADUs  Portlandia for one.. they look at it as a form of affordable housing and of course PDX is all about cramming people into density and now So cal sprawl.I have 3 homes I am building this summer all three will have ADU's above the garage with full kitchenwhen I told the planner at the city I have alley access and I want to put ADU above detached garage you could just see her light up.. its planner nirvana..

It makes my life as a newbie in real estate a lot easier ;-) Just as many of you, I have been getting more and more excited about real estate investing from hearing many BP podcasts, reading Brandon's book for a thousand times by now, visiting networking events, etc.

Justin Prince I agree with Jay, definitely come out to some of the local networking events when you're in town.

OREIO is a real estate meetup group in Ottawa and their next event in on 8th March.

I don't believe an LLC in itself has any tax advantages.Talk to a tax planner.

Ideally, it would be nice if I could avoid foreclosing in the event of a default.
