If it is a condo-like property, where I own a specific share (like in the US,) that’s one thing.

For my first deal, I am looking at a duplex or four plex for house hacking to get my feet wet. 

The $150k wholesale was a duplex in Mountain View right across the street from google.

I also handled all the paperwork including tax, insurance, etc.The condo was in fair shape, but many of its components were dated.

Home is in Metro Denver area, an up/down brick duplex with attached one car garage for each unit, decent size yard with mature trees.Really cute home that I immediately fell in love with.What I am not in-love with however, is the potential structural issues that come with this home.Thus I ask, “How can I move forward with making an offer on an investment property with evident cracking?”

Is it ok for me to use a loan or low-interest credit line of my own to pay the mortgage on the duplex before I get renters in it?

An individual condo that can be bought by itself is always worth more than that unit as part of a multi unit  property, assuming it is Ina decent desirable area. 

I am buying duplexes at 10 to 15k with value of 40k in good condition with tenants in place.
