I'm in the very beginning of my journey in real estate investing coming from a career of corporate w-2 jobs...good jobs.

Lipstick jobs or even turnkey are the focus as I'd like to save any major reno jobs for later investments. 

Is this a feasible and commonly practiced strategy?

Personally, I'm not a fan of nickel and diming contractors on their work because well...they will end up nickel and diming me on the quality/effort they put into the job I've found. 

Common fees will include a set-up fee, a leasing fee for each turnover or a lease renewal fee, marking up maintenance, retaining late fees, and more.

Short-term rentals are a part time job and the property managers are too expensive imo.Mid-term rentals could work, but I'd only try it if your leaving your furniture, etc. in the unit.

I'm not just looking for a job; I'm after a journey.

Is that common, most by us are STR.Not sure how you write your lease but ours cancels with significant damage and we require renters insurance.

Bet the installer shows up and they expect that is part of the job.
