I am super excited about all the possibilities out there and in the process of putting a plan together with the goal of purchasing a rental property in 2022 (Brrrr) but recently i was presented with the opportunity to work for a year with a Property Management company and i am not sure if this will derail me and waste my time or it will help me gain some valuable experience once i start acquiring my own properties.

You can sell it and purchase a property of equal or higher value and by doing the 1031 process you get to defer all tax on gain and depreciation recapture.Both of these criteria are met it sounds like.
