You can usually look up the zoning regs online.There's a guy who lives off the grid in the county I live in, and he has several cabins and camping spaces that he rents out on AirBnB.

In this day and age they can wire funds or they can overnight a money order. 

When the market crashed, we ended up with a 25% vacancy rate almost overnight.

His family had a business down the road where they did white water rafting, and I had paid an engineer to design a small camping/RV parking lot for that 2 acre lot.
