Better if their idea, right? 

We looked briefly into moving there before we realized we weren't really happy with the idea of living permanently anywhere in the USA.

@Kendrick Salazar I think a lot of us on BP have discounted the idea that real estate could remain flat for a while instead of going up or down.

As a newbie, I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted.

@Chuck KautzHey Chuck,I like your idea of getting your daughter involved.As a father of 2 kids that went to college I think this is a great time to expose your child to what the whole process involves from purchase to rehab to managing this property.Your child will get so much real world experience out of the process I hate to say but this exercise my have more of an impact on her life then the BA has!

I'm just wondering people's opinion on this idea. 

@Cassandra Staffieri looks like the city is very much against the idea of STR's.

I’m interested in investing abroad and would like some ideas of good areas of the USA that are currently good markets, but inexpensive to get into.

The idea that you can build wealth without putting any money into it is a recipe for disaster and the sales pitch of gurus trying to steal your money.

I think I might be able to get more of an idea with a home inspection.
