I think the answer is to build the maximum number in a single building you can afford, assuming your market can support that number of additional units.

We were very fortunate to speak to a few good resources before setting up our home as a rental and thankfully the numbers support as much.

Maybe join a local REI group for networking and support-leases, notices, tenant screening etc.

You are disturbing the original foundation and supports for the building and not to mention any attached buildings so you will need experts input to determine load, etc...

But keep in mind that any industry with as much commission up for grabs as real estate is not a place you will find success without seriously competing.Best way to get started is to get licensed and get to learning, don't expect to be able to support yourself off of sales in the beginning.

I work in pharmaceutical sales which affords me a decent pay and flexible schedule and I truly enjoy it so my properties will be passive income which will further support my family.My parents have a college rental at the University of Dayton which does very nice and I like the idea of that model as a fairly safe and reliable source of passive income.
