Recently moved back to the area and looking to get my license again, but this time I would rather find a company that allows me freedom to set my own commission rates on listings, no mandatory office duty hours, no mandatory cold-call sessions, etc., and either has a set fee per transaction, small percentage per transaction, or has a cap on annual charges for commission splits.

If you want to connect with other investors, there is a FREE landlording meeting this Thursday, May 26th, at Tommy's Pizza on Dublin-Granville (between Sawmill and Riverside) that features education (a Q&A session geared to newbies for general real estate investing and landlording as well as a featured speaker) and networking and has a good mix of newbies and experienced investors.

I think the most important step prior to engaging various 3rd parties is to make sure you and your partner are both aligned in your goals & expectations- then you can have a clearer picture of what you want when you go speaking to all the other various suits.
