I lived in NYC for a few years, and I am so thankful to not be there right now during all of this.I think we'll see more families moving to suburban or even more "rural" areas where they can have more land and space, but also still be somewhat close to modern conveniences.

In 99% of deals the buyer writes an offer on his own form which usually leans more in the buyer's favor.However, it is a legitimate offer and you'll need to understand it unless on the face of it isn't even close to what you want.Part of the problem of being FSBO (not against them in general) is you are signing (if you proceed) a legal contract and will be bound by it - YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING.If it is really overwhelming but looks like it has potential, then hire a RE atty.

Sounds like you are not leaning toward moving to another state, so I would think the idea of building on the Grandparent's acre would be the most optimal for you.
