If rates spike up and you pay back your borrowed portion within 2-3 months your risk to the market was fractional/marginal as opposed to a buy and hold your risk and interest rate sensitivity to the market is prolonged and can eat away at the spread you're earning on the buy and hold.

A traditional corporation (c-corp) is probably not the way to go because of the double taxation, the company pays taxes on it's earnings and you pay taxes on that same money when you pay yourself.As @Larry T. said, focus on finding deals and getting them under contract, you can always get the entity set up after going under contract or purchase it in your name and then transfer to an LLC after close (might cost you some $ depending on the state laws)

Lending and flipping earn ordinary income, so definitely a benefit to having an IRA coat over, just like using IRAs to hold securities that create tax events for us like REITs and MLPs.
