as @Anthony Angotti Angotti mentioned, it's worth looking into Pittsburgh.Always ranked as one of America's "most livable cities", great amenities, charming neighborhoods, interesting topography, diverse economy, good arts, food & & culture, great sports, relatively protected from natural disasters...it has winters, but not nearly as bad as some more northern cities. 

It removes pet odor, smoke, bad foods, or whatever.

Faced with an unfamiliar grill, I will either burn or undercook my food and then I will blame the cheap property owner for not wanting to spend $300 on a real grill.

I mean, they left the cabinets and refer full of perfectly good food; closets full of clothes and shoes; alarm clocks; only things they seemed to take with them were laptops and one or two suitcases of clothing.

Drop both these asap ie remove food source paper based materials and moisture mold dies.

The people are great, there's good food, and we have 3 solid sports teams (especially the Cavs, doing great this year).
