If no, the self-directed 401k(solo 401K) may be out of the option.She may be able to do a SDIRA.In my opinion, i don't think doing leveraged deals within a retirement vehicle is the best approach.Has your mother considered just getting into some real estate syndication's?

My wife just spent a year clearing up her mother's estate.

I guess we were lucky we didn't buy as my brother in law needed assistance with the house my mother in law lived in.

This person owes me personally about $950.00 to which is preventing my daughter from being able to play Lacrosse as I am a single mother (do not get child support or any other form of help) I took this "job" from him as a second income and way to pay off my hospital bills and to help support myself/daughter...What kind of heartless individual would do this?

hi @lawrencesarpong I am from Cape Town and currently living and breathing the air of the mother city :) My wife and I bought our first rental property in 2008 and that's when our real estate journey started.

Does this house presently have a live-in "Den Mother" ("Superintendent if you prefer) who keeps law-and-order, collects rent, ensures the place is kept clean, serves as the tenants "face" to the business?  

My mother used to rent from him, and we stayed in several of his properties while I was growing up.

It’s a detached duplex so basically a mother in law suite. 1/1 with laundry unit, their own electric meter, water meter and tenant pays all utilities.
