Different people have different amounts of mental horsepower and different amounts of drive and desire, colleges try to sift that out (as one of their criteria for entry), the guru seminars do not.If the colleges just accepted anyone with the money, they would experience a lot more failure than they already do.

I've always been really cheap when it came to buying cars because of the Millionaire Next Door mentality, but it got to a point where I was driving my wife insane because I kept on shopping for 10 year old beaters for my next car. 

You need to be mentally able to deal with those periods.
