Say I have a fully remote job, get an FHA loan to house hack a 2-4plex and I keep one unit for myself while traveling and working elsewhere for 8-9 months out of the year (no other permanent residence).

I am looking into house hacking a property that is a duplex, or simply buying a single family home to brrrr.

It seems like house hacking is how I want to begin my journey, and I’m interested in purchasing cash flow positive multi family properties.

Avoiding house hacking as I’m in a good place, and only work 15 minutes from home. 

I am a relatively inexperienced real estate investor - 1 previous house hack where the proceeds from a sale were reinvested in a self-created QOF that owns 1 SFH outright.

I also live in Orem, i am currently house hacking rightnow.

My initial plan was to house hack a single family home, with cashflow being the main objective.

I currently own one investment property and my primary residence in which I'm house hacking.

My strategy has formed around the idea of purchasing a duplex or triplex as a house hack in the Dallas, Texas area for between 100k-300k.

I'm locked into a lease for another year and a half but would ideally and eventually like to house hack where I live (just outside NYC).
