I also took and passed the UTS test this allows me to become a RMLO or Mortgage banker in my case in any state that signed up with the feds.

Thanks for the thread.I agree with much of what was said in the article, but it is rather biased in that a broker may deal with several mortage bankers and collect only one fee for the orgination of a loan.

I was speaking with a Wells Fargo commercial banker at one of the meetup and he told me that, to cover them from the interest rate increase risk, they now borrow using the Debt Yield Ratio of ~8% (http://www.c-loans.com/knowledge-base/debt-yield-ratio).
