That would put undesirables on notice not to rent from you, and reassure the desirables that it is safe for families.Price your STR as a "suite" with a bedroom and a sofa bed in the family room for the kids, and a small dining table with chairs.

If mortgage paydown is a big  deal your WHY is not so good.Without appreciation potential RE sucks.You just know things happen in rentals(NOT GOOD ONES- COSTLY ONES)  which make TK highly undesireable

(not desirable).  2) Finance and purchase the house in my name and then slide it into the LLC, risking triggering the "Call on sale" clause of the mortgage (Also undesirable).
