While nobody can tell you your intentions, you'll know if you commit mortgage fraud or not and have to decide if you want to flirt with the law and risk a loan officer or manager submitting a Suspicious Activity Report to FinCEN.For context, I own a mortgage company and am my companies compliance officer so I'm not some rando spouting nonsense like the person above.

I know there are utility credits or whatnot, where the electric company gives you a credit or even pays you for your excess generated power, but I was always suspicious (maybe irrationally so) of those rates and arrangements.

That's a red flag.When someone offers to pay multiple months in advance to hold the property for them, that's a red flag because they are often trying to entice you to short-cut the screening process.I wouldn't rule them out, but the whole thing seems suspicious.
