A factor to consider is a flip is time sensitive, so if I do the work and it takes me 3 times as long because this is not my primary job, a contractor with a crew can have it done in 2 days, you can sell and move to the next one much quicker.If you do the work in the beginning you also learn about construction and just what it means to "redo" the bathroom or kitchen.
