People buy a house because the house fits their needs, financing is icing on the cake.

They cited insurance reasons, which could very well be true, but many residents felt it as a big "f you" Now folks from outside the community could argue this was an entitled stance from the residents, to feel they had access to this private land when they didn't, and that on the face is certainly true.

I would be more concerned about the brother in law potentially moving out mid-lease and leaving the couple.

Is a retail bank branch the type of NNN tenant I would personally be excited to have as a tenant?

Im the dreamer (although well researched dreamer) and my husband is the risk-adverse.

So, if you start with a duplex, your next purchase could be a triplex or fourplex.

If you can't figure out how to escape that entry-level job and get into something that pays better, then I would argue you probably don't have the skills necessary to invest in real estate and manage it well.Focus on finding a job you can be proud of and that pays well.
