Personally, for a home I'm going to live in I'd rather pay an extra $5K downpayment and an extra $230/mo at a very low-interest rate than come out of pocket $30K for the dis-pleasure of a decent size rehab in a time of labor and supply shortages.

No use in looking at a $2M facade makeover if the project only supports $1.5M.Understand there are product shortages right now...if you cannot get the Moen Commercial faucets the Architect speced at $X installed can you get Koheler faucets at $X (x) 3 installed.

Bird in the hand.. there is no shortage of old houses in the mid west that need rehab.Of course though if you hire and agent and do the we are showing it on these days and accepting contracts on this day.. in some markets you will get that over bid situation.
