The city can do whatever they want I I have to lean forward and take it. 

And now cities in every state are crying about a giant homeless problem.

You need to research/know the rules, laws and regulations (including HOA if applicable), like you'd do in any US city.

It takes me 10~ minutes to get on Lake Shore drive, then it's pretty easy to navigate the city.

@Bob Asad I have rentals in a city that requires separate accounts for deposits.

That is, buy one home in city X (where I don't live), live in it a couple of months let it be an STR the rest of the time and then the next year (or in two years) repeat again in the same city. 

I tried in my market which is the 2nd biggest to New York, so pricing for ads was really high and the return was not great.

Unless you have a specific monthly target for your payment you can spread that out to make it a Win/Win.There has been a lot of growth in Denver over the last 2-3 years and new builds as well I just closed on a home for a customer in commerce city they also moved from CA and needed a fresh start.
