Prior to investing, I asked my coordinator if the loan was secured and she said yes, it was secured by their property portfolio.

I got the Discover It Secured card in high school and used that to build up my credit. 

I should have been more clear...I actually have a BLOC with multiple properties securing the interest.

That doesn't seem right about having to chase your money - but would need a lot more info to provide a better opinion. also are you investing in one property and is your name secured or you giving an unsecured loan? 

Implying bait and switch is pretty bold, please provide specific examples OR possibly consider not implying this about a loan shop that you clearly don't know much about.
