Most of the Snowbirds hail from British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan and they flock (no pun intended) this area from October - May (to escape the harsh winter months in Canada). 

Whenever near the beach other factors need to be considered such as flood, wind hail insurance. 

Door lock, detector batteries, other consumables, replacement of damaged or disappearing items like pool towels and linens, replacing blown out screens (I spent over a grand just on screens last year though we did have a freak huge hail storm).

Landlord policy's have gone way up because most carriers are no longer writing landlord policy's in Texas because of the billions of pay out due to hail storms. https://www.restoremastersllc.com/hail-damage-statistics-in-...So, supply and demand of course push's up prices. 

Many, many "discount brokerages" have come and gone during my 20 years, and very few "discount brokerages" are still in operation (i.e  REDFIN) and they have all hailed that their business model will "disrupt and change" the industry and to be honest.....very little has changed.  

Solar does not last very long- the panels are glass so imagine if you have high winds, hail, intense weather. 

If you have ample street parking and aren't in an area where the cars will get destroyed by hail, etc. than it is less of an issue.

I had to call my Indiana property manager because of recent storm to check on hail damage.
