It is space under a stair case or space that isn't being used? 

I often wonder if the remote location (20 minutes up the mountain) is a turnoff and travelers are starting to prefer motel-like accommodations that are close to the main highways.Houses in the middle of the woods with no view, houses that are non-cabin style like they belong in a normal major city suburb, no game room, no deck to take in the view, no hot tub, no area for a fire pit, no room for extra activities like corn hole or throwing the football, poor driveway, steep entrance, tons of stairs etc.

Here in the Pacific Northwest any exterior (stairs) wood  rots quickly, so I choose to put my stairways inside.  1000sf for cars, 1000 sf on top, three rooms and full bath.

I would like to leave the two rooms closer to the stairs which don't have windows for our storage but rent out the 1 bedroom with living area (that will get all the windows and the doors)I would like to know how much rent is your basement making today and whether my above plan is something you find to be alright.

Cement down the drains, yup.

Peeling paint, inside or outside, handrails on stairs over 2 steps, broken glass, working electric and plumbing and operational heat source. 

It's a bit like a safe harbor statement - just because it hasn't happened, doesn't mean it won't in the future.Also, the 4x4 supports don't appear to be on cement footings (down to frost depth).

Is it too much to think that he would proactively tell me when the stairs are literally crumbling and the gutter is falling off the side of the house?!

Instead of ceramic tile on the shower walls, I had left over cement board siding from a previous job..

For people in the Brooklyn area, do you have any cement/concrete professional that you'd recommend?
