The big picture is that the State of Florida said in a ruling, If a municipality didn't already have a pre-existing rule regarding short term rentals as of 2011, then the municipality cannot ban STRs.

Can I ban smoking in the building, including common areas, mid-lease?

Of course, in addition to the fact Ron Fossum, Norada's CFO, has history of defrauding investors with the SEC and was banned from any future activity like this.

Wis Dells is a prime location for STRs to be eventually banned or very highly regulated given the large resorts with deep pockets and a lot of influence. 

Personally I don’t think anyone should be banned unless they have been convicted of a crime that could harm people on this site.

Most recently, the town I was looking at passed an outright ban and is considering permanently requiring that any new owners wait 12 months before implementing an STR.

Their push here is that nobody owns a car, and everybody uses public transportation.Rent here is going up in part due to raising interest rates, the Covid ban on evictions, where people stopped paying, more single people, not starting families, and the unreasonable demand that young people seem to have to own a large house, just like their parents had, not realizing that many started in smaller houses.

While there's been intense debate about banning STR’s, the strong property rights laws in Texas make such a ban a non-starter.
