I am, as you have correctly surmised, a horrible old man eating of his bitter heart in the desert and liking it.

To me , it was bitter sweet , because I gained so much experience with this property.

Once they lose a case due to procedure, they become bitter and remorseful for not spending the extra money to have it done professionally. 

The amount of money at issue is small and the time and money that will be spent, coupled of the aggravation if things go south, may leave you more bitter and financially injured in the long run.

Are they bitter for some reason?
