A few suggestions, make sure you have a strategy for splitting utilities between both units - with one heating and cooling system, one party may be cold while the other is warm.

I'm really glad my heart surgeon didn't get all of his training exclusively from online discussion groups and off the shelf books, but then, over the lifetime of REI, being responsible for millions and millions of dollars isn't nearly as important as the heart valve I'm now using.
