I want to fix and flip properties at first, them buy and hold townhouses in Manhattan and Brooklyn for vacation rentals, and eventually invest in bigger projects from there.Any suggestions on how to get moving quickly from this extremely stressful situation and get started?

Turnkey investing or going the roofstock route is definitely a shortcut way to get started, but again, depending on your time horizon, I think self-education is important, so once you pick a market, visit it (excuse for a little family vacation), meet realtors and contractors, attend a local REIA meeting to make local investor contacts (they are very easy to find via google search or on meetup), see some properties, and become a more informed investor.
