We took in a good amount of foreign capital by selling performing notes to overseas entities and individuals, then managing the cash flowing asset.  

If you think you're profiting unfairly then turn around and  donate the same amount to a charity, group or individual who could really use it.

To me, private lenders are your actual individual investors, that will lend you money for your project for a certain return or equity split.

I would think you'd be relying on bullet proof disclosures, but my experience tells me there is no such thing, especially with some elderly widow.It's great to hear that you are an attorney and that you tailor to the needs of the individual.
