@Jim Groves  it was also driven by an almost inexhaustible inventory of shovel ready lots that were cheap and had no govmit restrictions to building along with GA and AL builders that came down and built huge amounts of spec homes that banks allowed to happen.. and then well we know the rest of the story..  

That said, many 401k plans offered by employers have restrictions beyond those imposed by the actual regulations.

Now each lender is different and places their own restrictions.

So, there should not be any restrictions of the kind you mentioned.

After some experience and research around the area, I found that a lot of HOA's don't pay for as much as mine does but they still charge a heck of a lot more with a lot of restrictions.

Does anyone know if a condo association (6 unit building) can pass rental restrictions that prevent you from renting?

Some restrictions and the like apply, but it's doable.
