You no longer are responsible for the actual debt on the mtg, but the bank does get to foreclose since the house is the collateral for the loan.....you don’t get to just keep the house too.

A short sale makes things tougher, generally the owner has no money (which is why it is selling less than they owe) and I will just about guarantee the bank is going to say "no" if you even get a response.

The simple answer is: you advghe seller are responsible for the prorated taxes up until the day you sold it and the buyer is responsible for taxes after he owned it.

It's easier to sleep when a hail storm is rolling through the area, as I am only responsible for "studs in".The newer age of the units has provided very few maintenence requests and the neighborhoods attract very good neighbors and have a great school district.All that being said, my CoC returns leave some to be desired (7.xx%), but I have had great returns on appreciation with the areas boom.

I was interested in a property (my first multi-family) and my realtor at the same told me she attempted to contact the selling agent but received no response and left it at that.
