I've always called a mortgage secured to more than one property a "blanket" mortgage.I'm a residential lender, so I also want to comment on this part of your initial post: I don't want to use my conventional slots.

The closing is set for the end of December.I own a different residential investment property which was fully paid off an year ago.

This is residential, specifically a duplex rehab. 

The property is currently residential but zoned for commercial use as well if we choose to stop using it as a rental property.
