@Kumar GauravThere are two tests to pass for you to take a home office deduction.Regular and exclusive use.If you only have 1 rental and you use the office for 1 hour a week - You would want to see if that passes the regular use test...If you have more rentals and more time is used on the home office, then it is easier to justify.

Yes, you might have tuckpointing to do on old brick, which can get pricey, but these properties have already stood the test of time, and in my older properties I don't see much that would make me think they won't be around for another 100+.

This too shall pass.Interestingly, this is exactly the reason that loan underwriters "stress test" the financials on properties and require things like a 1.3 Debt Service Coverage Ration and cash reserves.

I suspect the infected tenant will quarantine themselves but really, there is no way to know if they do that and probably I ought to expect they won't.I am happy they had the courtesy to inform me they tested positive.
