The supply chain has backed up orders for things cabinets, appliances, flooring, lighting, and so many items for months.As a Realtor I can tell you that the cost of living, the increase in interest rates, etc. are having an immediate effect on buyers confidence in the market in our area.

I've been a contractor for more than 50 years and never asked for money up front with the exception of when I have to order materials that cannot be returned, or when I order custom-built cabinets.

Kitchen cabinets/floors are fine. 

Did a complete kitchen upgrade with granite CT, new appliances, cabinet repaint.

Create a digital filing cabinet of all the paperwork and repairs that have been done. 

They ate through walls, cabinets, you name it.

I had to tear out kitchen cabinets, appliances, carpets, vanity, and wall mounted a/c's because of the filth and roach smell!

In the end, I ended up doing a rehab that included new flooring in the entire house, painting the entire interior (two tones), a new roof, a moderate amount of plumbing and electrical repair/replacement, new windows and blinds, kitchen remodel (new flooring, new lighting, cabinet refinishing, new appliances, etc), extensive plaster wall/ceiling repair, plus an endless amount of cosmetic work inside and out.

All new appliances  and cabinets to include granite counter tops.
