I graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX in 2006. 

In 2012, I found and purchased a one acre property with a 2 unit, 3,500 square foot building on it, between a major university and the city’s downtown.

One reason it's controversial is that it is a practical implementation of Austrian Economics which is diametrically opposed to the Keynesian Economics taught in most western universities.  

BTW, Statesboro is where Georgia Southern University is, Home of the Eagles!

If you're going to stress about things that go wrong, you probably want to steer clear of risky investments.No one can universally stomach these considerations and everyone has a tipping point.  

Most colleges and universities have a veteran's services office that can connect you with any available programs.

Need help making a decision:Bought a condo across the street from a university in Tennessee mainly for my daughter to live in and "house hack" in the fall semester.We listed it for Summer Lease Only and have gotten about 10 inquiries, all but 1 wanting a years lease and every single person that we have had contact with asked if we would let them know if we have anything else open up there (I guess they are assuming we are a big company).  

Good cash flow but the property is located a block from a private university and I'm considering upgrading and converting it into student housing.

I graduated last year from a top 15 American university with honors in Economics (B.A) and Chemistry (B.S.).

We live in a university town making September and to a lesser extent, May, our bigger lease start months.That said, January is not terribly bad for 1-2bdrm units in or close to "universityville" ... it common that after the fall semester folks decide they want out of residence, or do not like their current roommates.
