@Mike M - Sorry your experience is starting out this way, I don't think it has to end up badly...it is up to you now to take control of the situation and MAKE SURE that your STR is not only not a negative, but an absolute benefit to the neighborhood.Ultimately all these people want is to not be bothered and most importantly to not have their property values affected negatively.

I know I'm not going to make any friends with this post... but my dear fellow investors.. do you have any idea how intrusive it is to not only get constant texts, phone calls, emails, letters (not as friends but from owner info taken from tax rolls), and now that investors are so desperate I have people calling and texting my PARENTS to see if I will sell my Texas properties.

You've got Ohio State parents looking for rentals during parents weekend, football games, graduation,  etc...then you've got Cedar Point!

The other piece to consider is that debt allows you to buy and control better asset classes.

I teach kids but the parents don't tip me for teaching them.And that would be a terrible hit to the upward mobility of the middle class' attempt to move to the next level if 1031 exchanges were eliminated.

You do not need to justify to them the reasoning so do not give them the control.

Neither party really has the ability to fully control the agenda so both are going to need to accept some significant compromise positions, and where that will fall is at this point just a pure guessing game.

The Mr. was arrested over the weekend on a Domestic Violence and a possession of a controlled substance charge.
