In order to pay down the liability / principal on the new house, and pay off other consumer debts, they want to sell & be cashed out, rather than taking on an "owner finance" deal.

While you are in your earning years, eliminating the consumer debts will only benefit you long term and unlocks your ability to access more financial products to buy homes. 

Are you using a Lowes credit card (one of their pro cards, or the consumer card)?  

It can be time consuming and frustrating but it's good money.
