I will take some of the book recommendations from this forum, but as i have a background in tech, i am ever searching for a web-based advantage / approach...

When I started out I thought to myself "I'm going to invest in real estate" as if it's a linear path; this is a business of interconnected webs in 3D!

A beater-driving handyman will offer much different value than a web developer.

I learned more from this thread than a handful of web sites I googled.

I agree with the article since every web web page that references the maximum charge landlords can charge states that the fees have to be actual costs and not an arbitrary or pre-determined fee. 

That being said, most banks have a web page with all there REO properties currently available for sale.As far as Corporations, LLCs, etc.

When investigating a particular property, you should be able to find the annual taxes on the county web site.
