Hey @Jared Baker I think it all depends on what you're trying to do... from the sounds of it it seems like you're looking to build a portfolio of rentals.

I've been investing in real estate for the last 2.5 years however my current portfolio is small as I initially started investing as a hobby.

Ya don't worry about the DTI dance, its a silly game to play for your first couple properties.

Discuss your portfolio and come up with a strategy with an attorney *who has real estate investing experience*    -  Sure other attorneys can help, but they often don't know the niche ways to optimize these entities.
