At this moment, nothing is certain.As much as I know, I am absolutely continuing to invest in STR's in my neck of the woods, as the cash flow is excellent, the owner/investor risk is minimal/acceptable and it's a growing market.Bottom line, stay informed and always keep investing wherever returns seem strongest.

@Mulugeta Berhe Agency lenders tend to want to see 2 years of experience but right now there are some excellent 30 year fixed options which would allow a first time 5 + unit operators.

My experience in countries and cities that depend heavily on tourism has been excellent (Mexico, Greece, Thailand, New Orleans, Galveston). my visits to places less dependent on tourism have been more mixed.

So, if they happened to be excellent at their craft and scrupulous (the VAST minority) then great! 

I would say real estate is an excellent vehicle and you should be putting a lot of emphasis on growing your portfolio.
