I'm restarting my real estate investing after being out of the game for about 20 years but am living in Asia right now so am a bit far away to be doing any serious buying and flipping.

If there was any, you did not have many properties to work with.At the end of the 3 day workshop when they pitched the different tiers of mentorship programs, I remember an older gentleman who could be my grand pa decide not to purchase any program because after hearing all their spill he could not see or observe, I quote "Phill Grove have skin in the game" for the mentorship program.

On the phone he suggested doing half seller financing where he would hold the note for 15 years at ~7% interest rate.

Here is what I see when looking at their information.It looks like their first deal was a 14-unit acquired in 2017, so they are pretty new at this game.

If I continue to pay the mortgage in the the seller's name (with out refinancing) would they claim the mortgage interest tax deduction or do I get to claim that since I am paying the mortgage and hold the deed to the property.
