I'd say you're correct in being priced out of those areas but worry about the numbers, not the price.

If I'm not mistaken, there won't be tax tools on this planet to write off even part of it.

I put the address in and it gives me 20 responses, all not the correct address.

Ten percent may not be close to the correct percentage, but has anyone had success in finding a ratio/percentage that works for them and that they would typically go by before considering a property to purchase? 

You may also use the local city GIS tool online to figure out what the specific address or parcel number to make sure you're pulling records for the proper property, although platforms like agentpro247 have a GIS-like tool function.

Thank you so much for your time and input, I have a while before I can take action on anything, but I want to be able to analyze a deal in my sleep by the time I get there and be confident that I did it correctly. 

Am I looking at this the wrong way or am I correct in thinking I should walk away?
